MTC

Dear Family and Loved Ones,

We were instructed at the MTC to make sure our missionaries write home every week . . . so we should set the example and begin our weekly mission letter home.

The MTC was amazing!  We felt the Lord's hand and His tender mercies the minute we walked through the door, we were greeted and escorted by a great young man who "just happened" to marry our mission president's grand daughter. During the few days we were in the MTC we were constantly surrounded by wonderful brothers and sisters to help us along.

Kelly asked if our MTC experience was similar to what we experienced more than thirty years ago when we were single missionaries.  I told him this was the VIP MTC.  We were treated and fed like royalty.  It was actually a bit overwhelming at times.

Of course the highlight was the wonderful inspirational messages from our Apostles and other leaders.  Here a few examples:

"You are never alone in the Lord's work.", "It is not what we have done that matters, it is how our hearts are changed." - Elder Eyring

"The Lord would He would hasten His word and this is the time.", Hope is the abiding trust that Christ will keep His promises.", "We need to be tuned in to the frequency of the Lord.  We must get in tune.  The Lord won't change His frequency but we can."  ""He will care for our family while we are away, they will do even better than if we were home." D&c 31:1-6 & 7 - Elder Nelson

"Through the atonement we can develop Christlike attributes.", "Spiritual and physical healing comes through faith in His atonement." - President Uchtdorf

"When we renew our covenants the Lord renews the cleansing we received at baptism.", "Eternal life is family life with a loving Father in Heaven and our progenitors."  - Elder Oaks

"Just keep trying.", "Worry if you must about your families at home, but only as a gesture.  The Lord WILL take care of them.",  "Don't get caught up in the tick of thin things.",  "Push fear aside.",  "Our families will be alright. Be patient it will all work out." - Elder Packer

"Trust God and believe in good things to come!  This is the Lord's work and we are on His errand, He will bless us in miraculous ways."  "We have 36 months (same length as the Savior's mission) to change the world, or at least ourselves." - Elder Holland

It was a wonderful seminar and we left knowing that this is the Lord's work and that He will help each of us to do our part, if we seek Him.

We love you all!
