Happiness Money Can't Buy

Dear Family and Loved Ones,

We had a wonderful week here in the mission and have especially enjoyed seeing family and friends.  Spending time with loved ones is a great blessing.

Today we attended sacrament meeting in Whittier, the Elders serving there planned an "invite a friend" to Church meeting.  The Bishop asked if we would speak, they had the Primary children sing "I Am a Child of God" and the Young Women sang a beautiful song.  The highlight of the meeting was hearing from a beautiful young couple who shared their testimonies. This couple was sealed in the temple yesterday with their three adorable children. I could imagine this beautiful family all dressed in white kneeling at the altar in the temple.  They are now a "forever family". Both husband and wife were emotional as they shared their feelings. The brother's name is Lucky, he spoke of his journey to the temple.  His Grandparents lived in Tonga, when Mormon missionaries came to their home his Grandpa said they could teach his 52 children (from three different wives) if they also taught them English.  The whole family was eventually baptized! Lucky didn't stay active in the Church during his young adult years but now has come back to the Gospel path.  He shared a powerful testimony of the blessings of knowing where he came from, his purpose in life and where he will go after this life. He expressed his gratitude for all the blessings of the Gospel, especially the blessings of the temple.

A couple of months ago we went to the Los Angeles Temple and Visitors Center.  One of the workers there told us that the Church was approached by Shaquille O'neal's representatives. They made an offer of 20 million dollars to buy the Los Angeles Temple and grounds.  The offer was declined. The offer was doubled to 40 million dollars.  Of course that offer was quickly declined as well and Shaquille was informed that the temple was not for sale at any price.

The blessings of the Gospel are truly priceless!

We love and appreciate each of you,
The Long Beach Buberts
