Dear Family and Loved Ones,
We had a busy but enjoyable week – of course the highlight was spending Violet’s first birthday at Disneyland. Ben and Mari actually skipped school and joined us for the special occasion. Even though it was more crowded than we thought it would be the lines weren’t bad and everyone got to go on their favorite rides: Indiana Jones, Tower of Terror and Star Tours for the big people – It’s a Small World, The Caterpillar ride and the Carousel for the little people. Pearl and Violet loved seeing the Princesses! Violet hugged each one (we saw Cinderella, Little Mermaid and Snow White) she had the biggest smile on her face. Pearl was practically glowing. It was so much fun to spend the day with family.
Tuesday we went to the temple with our departing missionaries. Nineteen of our most awesome missionaries complete their missions this transfer and only two arrive! Because our group was so big we went to the Los Angeles temple for our endownment session. We were also able to meet with the temple President, President Brimhall. He gave such great counsel to our missionaries about how to stay strong and on the Gospel path once they go home. As each of us keep our covenants we can be certain that we will be making the right choices. Our covenants protect us. We had a delicious lunch in the temple cafeteria and took some photos on the temple grounds. What a great day.
What makes any place a happy place is being with family and loved ones. The greatest blessing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the sealing power, found in our Holy Temples. Through that power our families can be together forever! That blessing means so much to us at this time when we are separated from many of our dear family members, heaven wouldn't be heaven without them. This is what President Monson said about temple blessings, "Those who understand the eternal blessings which come from the temple know that no sacrifice is too great, no price too heavy, no struggle too difficult in order to receive those blessings. There are never too many miles to travel, too many obstacles to overcome, or too much discomfort to endure. They understand that the saving ordinances received in the temple that permit us to someday return to our Heavenly Father in an eternal family relationship and to be endowed with blessings and power from on high are worth every sacrifice and every effort".
Grandma Camille is preparing to leave this life, she is being tenderly cared for by Ted’s brother and sisters. We are so grateful to them!
We love you all and appreciate your faith and prayers,
The Long Beach Buberts
